Forces part or all of an X11 screen to be repainted. It can help clear temporary visual artifacts left by old applications, damaged windows, or display glitches in classic X sessions.
It is a quick visual refresh, not a repair tool for driver problems. Repeated artifacts usually point to an application, compositor, driver, or hardware issue that needs separate investigation.
