Description
Updates system login accounting databases when X sessions start or end. Display managers and session scripts use it so tools that read utmp or utmpx can see graphical logins more accurately.
It is an administrative helper, not an app for normal desktop work. Incorrect use can make session accounting misleading, so it is usually called by login or display-manager infrastructure instead of by users directly.
