Description
Converts bitmap fonts from BDF source format into PCF files used by X11 font systems. It is useful for font maintainers, packagers, and legacy X environments that still need compiled bitmap fonts.
Normal desktop users rarely need to run it directly. It is mostly part of packaging or font-build workflows, and the converted font still needs to be installed or indexed by the relevant X font tools before applications can use it.
