Description
Connects Linux systems to L2TP network tunnels, commonly for VPN setups that are configured by an administrator. It supplies the background daemon that negotiates the L2TP part of the connection; authentication, routing, firewall rules, and any IPsec protection still need correct system configuration.
Most desktop users only need it when a VPN profile or network guide specifically asks for L2TP support. Incorrect settings can expose traffic, break connectivity, or send data through the wrong route, so it should be configured with trusted server details.
