Union views of multiple directories can be mounted through a FUSE-based filesystem. unionfs-fuse is useful for overlaying read-only and writable trees without kernel unionfs support.
Mount only paths you understand and test write behavior. Union filesystems can hide files, redirect writes, confuse backups, and expose data if permissions or branch order are wrong.
