Batch jobs and distributed compute nodes can be controlled through a PBS-style resource manager. Torque is useful for administrators of clusters that submit, schedule, and monitor jobs across shared machines. It can start workloads over SSH and control compute resources, so user permissions, queues, node trust, and job cleanup need careful administration.
