Non-Linux Steam downloads can be requested by manipulating the app manifest data used by the Linux client. This short Python command helps make Steam fetch applications that are normally not offered for Linux. It is intended for advanced Steam users and testers; it changes library metadata and may confuse the client, waste bandwidth, or download content that still needs compatibility tools to run.
