Description

Centralizes access to remote identity, authentication, and directory services such as LDAP, Kerberos, and Active Directory. Administrators use it to let Linux systems authenticate users and cache identity data reliably.

Authentication daemons are critical infrastructure. Misconfiguration can lock users out or expose credentials, so test domain settings, cache behavior, and failover carefully.
