Mail messages can be checked by a standalone C client for a SpamAssassin daemon. Administrators run `spamc` to submit messages to `spamd` and receive spam classifications in scripts or mail pipelines. Message contents and headers are sent to the configured spamd service, so trust and TLS settings matter.
