Memory use can be reported with proportional set size information, which gives a clearer view of shared memory than many simple process lists. This helps users find which processes are really responsible for RAM pressure.
The tool is mainly for terminal-based diagnosis on desktops and servers. It reads process memory information and produces reports; it does not free memory or change running applications by itself.
