Description

Files or disk devices can be overwritten with repeated patterns to make later data recovery more difficult. This is useful for disposal workflows where sensitive data should not remain easily recoverable.

It is a destructive command-line storage tool. Pointing it at the wrong path can permanently destroy data, and SSDs or copy-on-write filesystems may need different secure-erase methods.
