Static type checkers can understand setuptools APIs without bundled annotations. This package supplies external type stubs from the Python typing ecosystem, helping editors, linters, and CI checks report better type information for projects that use setuptools.
It is a development dependency, not a separate app and not the setuptools runtime itself. Most users need it only when a Python project or type-checking setup asks for setuptools stubs.
