Description
Reads and writes filesystem extended attributes from Python. It helps backup tools, file managers, security utilities, and indexing systems preserve or inspect metadata stored outside normal file contents.
Extended attributes can affect security labels, desktop metadata, and application behavior. Modify only intended paths and preserve important attributes during copies or migrations.
