Description

System responsiveness under low-memory conditions can improve when selected binaries and shared libraries stay locked in RAM. This development snapshot of prelockd runs as a daemon that keeps memory-mapped files resident, reducing stalls from paging on configured systems. It is for administrators and power users; incorrect tuning can reserve too much memory and affect other workloads.
