Description

UEFI Secure Boot chains can use a signed preloader binary to help boot systems that need a trusted handoff before loading other EFI components. This is useful for advanced boot setups, distributions, and recovery workflows involving Secure Boot.

It is a boot security component. Mistakes can prevent a machine from booting normally, so users should understand firmware settings, keys, fallback boot media, and recovery steps before installing or replacing EFI files.
