Provide the PolicyKit framework used by applications and services to request and authorize privileged system actions. It lets desktops show authentication prompts instead of giving every program permanent administrator access.
This is core privilege infrastructure. Misconfiguration can block needed administration tasks or allow actions too broadly, so policy changes should be reviewed carefully.
