Description
DVMRP multicast routes can be handled by a standalone routing daemon. This network service is useful for administrators working with legacy multicast routing environments that need Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol support. It runs as the pimd.service daemon when configured. Routing daemons can change network reachability and multicast traffic flow, so configuration, firewall rules, and rollback access should be planned.
