Description
PHP 8.4 services can run faster by caching compiled script bytecode. This Zend runtime module reduces repeated parsing and compilation for web apps, CLI workers, and long-running PHP deployments. It is dependency-only and has no separate launcher; administrators enable it in PHP configuration for the relevant runtime. Cache settings, file update behavior, shared memory limits, and deployment invalidation need care so old code is not served after an update.
