Applications running on PHP 8.3 can query and manage SNMP-enabled devices. This runtime extension is used by monitoring dashboards, network inventory tools, and automation scripts that read counters or settings from routers, switches, printers, and appliances. It is dependency-only and has no separate launcher; PHP code calls SNMP functions when enabled. Community strings, SNMPv3 credentials, reachable networks, and write operations need strict control because SNMP can reveal infrastructure details or change device settings.
