PHP 8.3 projects can install packages from the PEAR ecosystem. This command-line package tool fetches PHP libraries and applications for project environments that still use PEAR. It is run from a terminal with the pear83 command. Downloaded packages may include executable code or install scripts, so package sources, permissions, and compatibility with the PHP version should be reviewed.
