Legacy PHP applications that require PHP 5.6 can run on systems that still need that old runtime. This is mainly useful for maintaining older websites, internal tools, or migration environments that have not yet moved to a supported PHP version.
It is a language runtime for obsolete PHP 5.6 code. Because this branch is old, it should be isolated, exposed carefully, and used as a bridge toward migration rather than as a default choice for new projects.
