OSSv4 audio support can be built from the development source for systems that intentionally use the Open Sound System architecture. It is useful for testing recent OSS changes or maintaining legacy audio workflows.
Development audio drivers can break device access or sound routing. Keep a recovery path and avoid replacing stable audio components on production systems.
