Description

Older software that still depends on OpenSSL 1.1 can keep using TLS and cryptographic functions through a compatibility library. It is useful for legacy applications that have not yet moved to newer OpenSSL releases.

Cryptography libraries affect secure connections and certificate handling. Users should prefer maintained software that supports current OpenSSL versions when possible.
