Description
Older software can link against the OpenSSL 1.0 cryptography and TLS toolkit when legacy compatibility is required. It is useful only for maintaining applications that cannot yet move to newer OpenSSL versions.
OpenSSL 1.0 is a legacy branch and may lack modern security fixes or protocol support. Avoid it for new software and isolate systems that still require it.
