Irregularly spaced time series can be analyzed with spectral-decomposition tools such as Lomb-Scargle periodograms. This helps researchers study periodic signals when measurements are not evenly sampled.
It is a scientific Octave extension. Spectral results should be checked against sampling bias, noise, and domain expectations.
