Description
Older software that expects the legacy Nettle 6 library can keep running or building without moving to a newer ABI immediately. It is useful for compatibility with packages that have not yet been ported.
Most users should not choose it directly. Legacy cryptographic libraries should be kept only when required by trusted software, because older versions may miss newer fixes or interfaces.
