Description
Older C++ programs that read or write netCDF scientific data can keep building against the legacy interface they expect. This matters for research code, data-processing tools, and long-lived projects that have not moved to newer netCDF C++ APIs.
Most users receive it as a dependency. It does not add a separate launcher; developers use it through headers and libraries while compiling or running compatible software.
