Atop can collect per-process network statistics through a dedicated kernel module. It helps administrators see which processes contribute to network traffic when diagnosing performance or usage problems.
Kernel modules must match the running kernel and can affect system stability. Review build logs after updates and use the module only when the extra network accounting is needed.
