Description

Kernel module usage can be recorded over time to support local kernel configuration workflows. It helps advanced users identify modules their system has actually loaded before building a smaller custom kernel.

A module history is useful but not a complete safety guarantee. Rarely used hardware, recovery devices, and future needs can be missed if you build a kernel only from recent activity.
