Description
Root filesystems stored on NFSv4 can become available during early boot. Administrators use these hooks for diskless machines, lab systems, or remote-root setups that depend on NFS before the main system starts.
It is boot storage infrastructure, not an NFS manager. Network, export, and authentication failures can stop the machine from reaching its root filesystem.
