Windows-targeted terminal software can use terminal capability data through the MinGW-w64 termcap package. It helps cross-compiled text-mode programs adapt output to terminal features.
Terminal capability data is only useful when the application and terminal agree on behavior. Test screen drawing and key handling in the target console environment.
