The open NVIDIA 580xx kernel module branch can be used with the XanMod LTS kernel on supported GPUs. It is useful when the open module stack is preferred or required for the installed NVIDIA hardware.
Open kernel modules still need matching NVIDIA user-space packages. Users should keep the entire driver branch consistent to avoid graphics or compute failures.
