Description

A deblobbed Linux kernel gives users a kernel variant that removes proprietary firmware blobs and other non-free pieces from the upstream Linux source. It is useful for systems that prioritize software-freedom policies over maximum hardware compatibility.

Hardware that depends on removed firmware may stop working or lose features. Keep another known working kernel available before switching, especially on laptops, wireless systems, and machines that need proprietary drivers.
