Description
Headless Linux systems can use VA-API video acceleration for media processing without a desktop session.
This package is useful for servers, transcoders, containers, and automation that need hardware-assisted video decoding or encoding. It does not add a graphical player; command-line or service software uses it through libva.
Hardware acceleration depends on drivers, permissions, GPU availability, and codec support. Test workloads before relying on it for production transcoding.
