Audio applications can access input and output devices through a cross-platform C99 API.
This library helps developers build recorders, players, synthesizers, audio tools, or plugins that need to talk to sound backends without writing separate code for each platform. It does not add a mixer or player by itself; another program uses it to capture or play audio.
Microphone access and playback behavior depend on the application that loads it. Review that program when privacy, monitoring, or recording matters.
