Description
Enables packet capture tools to read network traffic from user-space programs. It is the common base used by analyzers, sniffers, security tools, and diagnostics utilities that need to inspect packets.
It does not capture traffic by itself for casual use. Install it because another tool, such as a network analyzer, depends on it or because you are developing software that reads packets.
