Description
Unicode and internationalization support from ICU version 50 helps older applications handle text, collation, formatting, and locale behavior they were built for. It is mainly needed when software still depends on that historical ICU ABI.
This is a compatibility library, not a language settings app. Users normally install it as a dependency, while new software should prefer maintained ICU versions when possible.
