E57 file support helps applications exchange 3D point-cloud and imaging data from laser scanning workflows. It is useful in surveying, architecture, preservation, and other work that needs structured 3D scan files.
The package is a library, not a point-cloud viewer. Applications decide how scans are loaded, displayed, converted, or written, and large E57 files may require significant storage and memory.
