Description
DRI2 extension support helps older X11 graphics stacks connect applications with direct rendering infrastructure. It is part of the low-level path that lets compatible drivers and clients coordinate accelerated drawing.
Most users need it only as a dependency of graphics components. It does not install a video driver by itself; actual acceleration depends on the kernel, Mesa, X server, and hardware support.
