Description
Static packet I/O support lets software build Snort-style data-acquisition code directly into an application or appliance. This is useful for controlled deployments that need static linking instead of a shared library.
It is meant for developers and security appliance builders, not for everyday desktop use. Network capture still has the same permission and privacy concerns as the shared library.
