Legacy GNOME-era applications can use Bonobo CORBA interfaces for reusable software components. It helps old desktop software keep component embedding and interprocess object workflows working.
Bonobo is legacy infrastructure and should not be used for new applications. Prefer maintained frameworks when software can be updated.
