Description
32-bit legacy applications can use the OpenSSL 1.0 toolkit for TLS, cryptography, certificates, and secure network connections. This mainly preserves compatibility with older binaries that were built against that ABI.
Cryptographic compatibility libraries are security-sensitive. Prefer current OpenSSL for maintained software, and avoid exposing old TLS stacks to untrusted networks unless there is a clear compatibility requirement.
