Description
Legacy 32-bit applications can resolve local .local hostnames through mDNS using the glibc NSS plugin. It helps software find printers, media boxes, and other local-network devices without manual DNS entries.
Local name resolution exposes and trusts information from the local network. Use trusted networks and be aware that device names can be spoofed.
