32-bit GTK-era applications can rely on common C routines for data structures, main loops, threading, and utility behavior. It is a foundation library used by many desktop and system components.
Users normally install it as a dependency. It does not add a separate launcher, but missing or incompatible GLib builds can prevent dependent 32-bit applications from starting correctly.
