Packet time inside the kernel becomes visible from the command line for deep network diagnostics. It helps operators understand latency, bottlenecks, and packet-processing behavior that ordinary ping or logs may not explain.
Kernel-level network tracing can expose traffic metadata and may need elevated permissions. Use only on systems you administer and avoid capturing sensitive production traffic unnecessarily.
