KDE Plasma gets its core composited window manager from the development branch. It controls window placement, effects, virtual desktops, focus behavior, and much of the visible desktop interaction.
This is critical desktop infrastructure. Development builds can affect session stability, graphics behavior, and window management, so they are best for testers or users who need current upstream changes.
