Authorized network reconnaissance can be collected, indexed, and analyzed with tooling built around scanners and passive data sources from the development version.
It is useful for security teams mapping assets, tracking exposure, or building internal search systems similar to Shodan. Reconnaissance can be intrusive and privacy-sensitive, so scan only networks you are allowed to assess.
