Description
Splash is a video mapping software, dedicated to deploying immersive spaces. Splash takes care of semi-automatically calibrating the videoprojectors (field of view, optical shift, projection blending and color), and feeding them with the input video sources. Calibration relies on a 3D model of the projection surfaces, which allows for matching the real and virtual spaces. Ultimately this can lead for instance to projecting onto mobile objects, or hiding the physical space when used with head tracking.
Splash is very flexible, but its user interface is organized around one main goal: mapping immersive spaces and allow for creators to bring content to the physical world using any tool they know and master. As such the main features of Splash are:
Unlimited outputs, including physical (graphics card) and network outputs (NDI)
Semi-automatic projectors calibration, based on a 3D model of the physical space
Automatic blending computation of any number of projectors, whatever the overlapping between them
Real-time blending computation, allowing for blending moving tracked objects
Unlimited number of video inputs, live and pre-rendered
Entirely controlable through OSC
Scriptable through Python
Runs on single board computers as well as media servers
Does one thing, as best as possible
