Browser identities can be separated into containers inside GNU IceCat so cookies, logins, and site data stay apart. It is useful for users who want account separation while staying with that browser family.
Containers reduce accidental account mixing but do not replace full privacy isolation. Websites, extensions, and browser settings can still leak or combine information in other ways.
