Modal text editing in the terminal can be used with a Helix variant that carries extra patches outside the main project.
It is useful for developers who like Helix but want behavior from changes not accepted upstream. Because the patch set differs from the official editor, configuration, bugs, key behavior, and compatibility with documentation may not match standard Helix exactly.
